Lean Pares Bowl
Ingredients:
- 900 gms Mrs. Garcia’s Beef Cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 thumb ginger, sliced
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 star anise
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- 4–5 cups water or beef broth
- Spring onions for toppings
- Bok choy or Pechay (optional)
- Optional thickener: 1 tsp cornstarch (only if needed)
Procedure:
- Sear beef in minimal oil until lightly browned.
- Remove excess oil if needed.
- Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger.
- Return beef, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, star anise.
- Add broth/water. Simmer 1.5–2 hours (or pressure cook 35 minutes).
- Reduce sauce slightly. Keep it broth-based, not oily.
Serve with blanched Bok choy or Pechay and spring onions for a healthier version
