Lean Pares Bowl

Ingredients:

  • 900 gms Mrs. Garcia’s Beef Cubes 
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 thumb ginger, sliced
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 star anise
  • ½ tsp ground pepper
  • 4–5 cups water or beef broth
  • Spring onions for toppings
  • Bok choy or Pechay (optional)
  • Optional thickener: 1 tsp cornstarch (only if needed)

Procedure:

  1. Sear beef in minimal oil until lightly browned.
  2. Remove excess oil if needed.
  3. Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger.
  4. Return beef, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, pepper, star anise.
  5. Add broth/water. Simmer 1.5–2 hours (or pressure cook 35 minutes).
  6. Reduce sauce slightly. Keep it broth-based, not oily.

Serve with blanched Bok choy or Pechay and spring onions for a healthier version
